At Mougins school, we bring a strong sense of community through extracurricular activities. That's why we are delighted to introduce you to Celia Monclar, a qualified ballet teacher who will bring perseverance, well-being and discipline to students wishing to try the art of ballet.

Tell us about yourself

After training at the Rosella Hightower dance school in Cannes, I went to New York to perfect my skills.

I then started my career in Paris where I danced for many shows, events and TV programmes (NRJ Music Awards, Les Enfoirés, La France a un Incroyable Talent, Taratata, Emilie Jolie musical, ERA Band…), for music videos, commercials, brands and for the famous French choreographer Kamel Ouali in Switzerland, Russia, Luxembourg etc...

As a qualified classical dance teacher, I am very happy to be able to pass on and share my passion.

Tell us about your greatest professional achievement

As a dancer, I will always remember my dance solo during the concert: Les Enfoirés, which brings together the most famous French singers in front of 12,000 spectators and is broadcast on TV.

And my best experience as a dance teacher was when I created a dance show for 200 students of all ages.

What is your steepest learning curve?

When learning dance, and particularly ballet, the mindset and competition are two things that must be mastered along with discipline and perseverance.

Mougins School is a great place because…

Mougins school is an international school that promotes beautiful values such as benevolence, diversity and positivity, so it seemed obvious to me to join it. Moreover, the school's interest in art and sport made me want to be part of the team even more!

Do you have a link to any work or anything that you would like to share with the community?

Do not hesitate to do a trial lesson to find out if you are made for ballet. The first class will start on Tuesday 24th January from 3 to 4 pm for 8/10 years old & from 4 to 5 pm with 11/13 years old and you can follow me on Facebook too!
