O Castro British International School (Vigo) hosted the III Globeducate British International Schools Education Talk in Spain, which was attended by over 700 people who registered to discuss with Eduardo Sáenz de Cabezón the importance of promoting logical-mathematical thinking in Education.
If we think about it, mathematics is present in practically every aspect of our lives. From when the alarm clock goes off in the morning to when we set it to start a new day the following day. Logical-mathematical thinking goes beyond the mere mathematical sciences, it is related to the ability to employ logical thinking and the ability to work and think in terms of numbers. Fostering this type of thinking is fundamental for children's wellbeing and development, as this type of intelligence brings important benefits such as the ability to understand concepts and establish relationships based on logic in a schematic and technical way.
During the talk we discovered that, although we are all born with the capacity to develop this type of intelligence, the different capacities would depend on the stimulation received; something we know and we promote in our schools in Vigo, A Coruña, Valencia and Bilbao at all educational stages.
