Like many sports, golf helps children develop coordination, spatial position and balance. It improves concentration, mind development and enhances decision making. Golf is first and foremost about concentration and calm. Each stroke poses difficulties that require children's attention and abstraction from their surroundings in order to be solved. In addition, the problems involved in facing each ball will also help children's creativity to grow.

For these and many more reasons, we are happy to share with you that the II O Castro British International School Children's Golf League is already here. It will be held next June at the Real Aeroclub de Vigo, the Ría de Vigo (Domaio) and the Golf Balneario de Mondariz.

This initiative has the dual objective of promoting the practice of sport from the earliest childhood and sporting competitions, highly enriching experiences for children, as well as supporting local sporting entities, a motivation that, in the midst of the pandemic, becomes even more important if possible, due to the limitations and restrictions derived from the coronavirus.

The event will be played in three rounds, one on each course, next June, Stableford mode, in 4, 9 and 18 holes categories.

• Golf Balneario de Mondariz: June, 5th
• Real Aeroclub de Vigo: June, 12th
• Golf Ría de Vigo: June, 19th

Prizes will be awarded to the first classified in each category and trophies to the three best classified of the League in each category. The traditional raffle of sports equipment will also take place during the prize-giving ceremony, which will take place after the last round, at Golf Ría de Vigo club.
