Primary education at Globeducate British International Schools
Primary school is divided into two cycles, Key Stages 1 and 2. Along with key subjects including literacy and numeracy, throughout the primary years we work to establish the positive habits and characteristics that your child will take with them as their educational journey progresses.
Learning practical skills for the real world
We also focus on skills such as effective communication, conflict resolution and the ability to make reasoned decisions. We provide a stable learning environment with personal tutors to ensure dedicated attention and good communication with families.
Key Stage 1
In Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2), we build on the foundations set in Early Years, to establish the positive habits that your child will take with them on their educational journey. Lessons are taught in English, with the addition of additional language classes. We focus on providing a secure grounding in reading and writing and simple mathematics, while incorporating science, music, physical movement and creative arts into the curriculum.
Key Stage 2
In Years 3 to 6, students start to focus on more detailed understanding of subjects, including grammar and comprehension, arithmetic, and simple science experiments. Music, art, and physical education continue to form key parts of the curriculum.
In addition, students are encouraged to develop critical thinking skills, to take initiative and to act responsibly. In addition they continue to develop collective values such as cooperation, teamwork, compassion, respect and tolerance.
We work to establish positive habits and characteristics.
